Salt solutions and slurries

Non-temperature-sensitive products like salt solutions and slurries can be processed in a vertical thin film dryer under atmospheric operating conditions. In such an application high steam temperatures can be used to provide a high temperature difference between the heating medium and the product to be dried. The design of such a drying system, especially with regard to the solids' discharge, is significantly less demanding than for drying under vacuum. Typical applications of this arrangement are aqueous solutions, e.g. potassium phosphate or crystallisations.
